Latest adventure plans for me and my crazy friends. If
you have stumbled upon this page then feel free to read on.
Otherwise, it is posted as an informative site for my friends
that may or may not want to join us in the latest adventure.
Keep in mind that prior adventures have had near-death
experiences, frost bite, danger, and frustration. Do not
ask to join if you are faint at heart, out of shape, or can't
go without food and water for days. Most adventures take
place in Alaska or remote places where you may not see any
signs of man for days on end. With that said, our next
adventure is posted below. The
Magic Bus, February 7, 2009
Peter Fleck from England has
been training dogs with GB Jones and they plan on a trip
through the Alaska Range to McGrath, Alaska. 350 miles
by dog team sometime in March 2009. However, Peter wants
to see the Magic Bus where Christopher McCandless met his
maker in the fall of 1992. So, the latest plan is
to take three small dog teams from the Stampede Road near
Healy, Alaska and venture to the bus where GB and Peter plan
to make it their camp for the night. I, however, will
fashion a snow cave and camp well away from the bus I call a
"tomb."

McCandless (February 12, 1968 - August 18, 1992)
was an American wanderer who hiked into the Alaskan
wilderness with little food and equipment, hoping to live
a period of solitude. Almost four months later he died of
starvation near Denali National Park and Preserve.
Inspired by the details of McCandless' story, author Jon
Krakauer wrote a 1996 book, Sean Penn directed the 2007
film about this life, both titled Into the Wild and with
Emile Hirsch portraying McCandless.

These are the only photos of the
trip due to extreme cold (-55 below) and all equipment
including cameras failed to function after we started along
the Stampede Trail.
